  Nautica was founded by David Chu in 1963 where he designed a collection of men’s outerwear which was the visionary in its seamless work together of fashion and new technologies of fibers and fabrics. The reason he chose the name Nautica was to identify the concept of timeless and evolutionary in scope and to reflect lifestyle of energy, activities and fitness. Nautica was acquired by State-o-Maine which is now known as Nautica Enterprises Inc. The collection expanded to include men’s active wear and sportswear with colognes and perfumes. The collection line provides the spirit of American classics. The look is colorful, clean, and “preppy”. It presents fun, sporty and fresh with stitching and unique heat transfers .
