  In 1904 the Oris watch factory was founded by Paul Cattin and George Christian at Holstein, Switzerland. Then in 1925 Oris opens its own electroplating factory. Then the legendary pointer calendar was created making a point in history of Oris. Ever since then, the pointer calendar has always been a part of the watch making in the Oris collection.  Then Oris established a good name for quality alarm clocks. They introduced an alarm clock that just needed to be wounded once every eight days and believe it not till this very day these impressive time pieces are still used.


In 1968 Oris obtains the full chronometer certification from the Observatory of Neuchatel. This award is among the highest forms of recognition that exists for accuracy and superior quality. In 1970 Oris launched their first chronograph which was developed with the Dubois Depraz factory. In1988 Oris introduced the first mechanical alarm wristwatch in a limited edition.

 The Since the last Oris pointer calendar a completely new version with automatic power was developed. In 1991 Oris introduced their first automatic Complication watch with addition to hours, minutes and seconds the watch also displays the phase of the moon, the date, the day of the week and the second time zone. This product was sold worldwide. To celebrate its 90th anniversary Oris produced a limited edition of 90 watches in 18-carat solid rose gold each individually numbered.

In 1997 Oris presents the World timer with Oris movement 690. This is the world’s first watch to feature two analogue time displays and add in push button time adjustments. In the same year the limited series of 250 Jules Verne solid-gold watches was developed and fitted the World timer Chronometer movement. Then the Oris XXL line was created and was introduced to the watch world in 2000. The range of characterized by models of impressive dimensions, and for the first time the new collection is brought out in three sizes and three movements varieties.

   The big crown TT1 adds new momentum to its performance watches, a black rubber top ring on stainless steel is combined with a strap that mirrors the vertical tread pattern of formula-1 tires. In 2002 the new line of Oris Miles was created. With this special edition Oris sets the millstone a beautiful classic watch. Then Oris signed an agreement to become the elite watch partner with BMW Williams F1 Team. This limited edition is the most successful Oris watch in 2003. Included with the Artelier collection, Oris designed an exceptional watch case appropriate for many different types of movements.

In 2004 Oris established their 100th anniversary and then launched the Oris Centennial 1904 limited edition also with the Artelier Worldtime in stainless steel and close with an 8 day movement. Ralf Schumacher, Formula One driver for BMW Williams F1 Team because the new ambassador for Oris which in result linked this timepiece with his name, The Ralf Schumacher Limited Edition Chronograph. In the recent year Oris has extended its sponsorship with car sponsors and launched two new limited editions of WilliamsF1 Team collection. They are the Oris William F1 Team Lefty L.E and the Oris Mark Webber L.E. Chronograph. The design for this new collection was inspired by the old classics. This unique line has dial featuring a vibrant radial structure giving the beautiful swinging sixties style. Oris has dedicated a special watch collection for the great Frank Sinatra.
